Weekly Update - First League Fixtures Approach.

The Poly's first league fixtures take place this week (11th) with the 1s, 2s and 3s in action (at least they are in the latest cut of the fixtures).  The lower sides will follow on the next week - make sure you are fit and ready : your opponents certainly will be!

.

Which neatly links on to a reminder that training is now on Wednesday nights on the astroturf with a Six Thirty start : Time to start sweetening up the boss!

5th September : The new Saturday Veterans lined up for their first fixture, an away friendly against Kew at nearby Dukes Meadow.  The new side dominated the first half with an attractive passing style of football but lacked a cutting edge, falling behind just before the break to the home side's first serious attack.  It looked like it a disappointing start for the not-so-young fledglings early in the second half when an unfortunate own goal doubled the deficit.  However in the final quarter, a more direct style gave Horace McDonald the opportunities he needed and his one man goalscoring rampage secured a 4-2 win for the Poly.

The new team are entering the inaugural West London Saturday Vets League this season with 7 other clubs including Old Latymerians, Nottsborough and Sandhurst (Military Academy).

Terry Buckland will be captain in the first season and is looking to encourage existing players within the club aged 35 plus to become involved and inviting new members to join the Polytechnic FC to form a competitive squad for the new season.

If you interested or have friends looking for a well established and highly respected  club to join this season please contact Terry at Terry <at> officeestates.com or call him on 07973 158214 for more info.
